A Year On: Rebuilding, Refining, and Moving Forward
It has been just over a year since the last major update, and a great deal has changed behind the scenes.
Rebuild
Over the past months, Primoria has undergone a significant rebuild. The site is now running on upgraded hosting, providing better performance, improved stability, and room to grow as the world and its content continue to expand. Alongside this, large portions of the site have been rewritten and restructured, laying down a cleaner and more maintainable foundation.
Much of this work has not been immediately visible, but it has been essential. Pages have been reorganised, systems refined, and long-standing technical debt addressed. This puts Primoria in a far stronger position for future development, whether that is new lore, expanded rule systems, or deeper tools for players and Guides.
Primoria has always been about depth, consistency, and care. Taking the time to rebuild properly ensures that what comes next is not rushed, fragile, or temporary. The aim is to create something that lasts and continues to support the world of Swords and Scrolls as it grows.
More regular updates, published material, and world content will follow. Thank you to everyone who has stayed curious, patient, and interested while this work was underway.
The journey continues.
Character Generation
We are currently in the process of writing a character generator for users. Access is invite only at the moment, but development is progressing well. The system dynamically pulls data directly from the wiki, allowing the character generator code to stay in sync with the rules, statistics, and definitions as they evolve.
This approach ensures that changes to the core system are reflected automatically, reducing errors and keeping character creation consistent with the published material.
Future plans
Our plans for the character generator extend beyond initial character creation. The goal is to build an interface that allows players to maintain their character sheets online quickly and easily.
This will provide several benefits. Game Masters will be able to invite players to a game directly through the system, and a dedicated quick-view screen will present relevant character statistics and key information at a glance. This is intended to streamline gameplay, reduce table overhead, and keep the focus on storytelling and decision-making.
