Description

Burning Hands is an offensive combat spell that transforms the caster’s hands into living flame. While the spell is active, fire clings to the caster’s fists and palms, reacting violently to physical contact.

Limitations

Burning Hands requires direct contact to deal damage and offers no ranged effect. Prolonged use may cause fatigue, and repeated impacts can strain the caster’s endurance. The spell does not protect the caster from environmental fire or heat unless otherwise specified.

Burning Hands is favored by battle-magi and close-quarters spellcasters who blend martial combat with elemental magic.

Damage

Damage from Burning Hands scales with the caster’s level. The spell inflicts 1d4 fire damage for every odd character level.

This includes levels 1, 3, 5, 7, 9, 11, 13, 15, 17, and 19, with damage increasing as the caster advances.

Area of Effect

The spell remains active for a short duration or until dismissed by the caster. During this time, the caster must maintain focus to keep the flames stable. Loss of concentration may cause the flames to flicker or extinguish prematurely.

Targets struck by Burning Hands may attempt a saving throw versus magic resistance. On a successful save, the target suffers half damage from the attack.
