Description

Minor gods are lesser divine beings who embody narrow aspects of existence rather than broad universal domains. They represent specific actions, professions, moments, or forces, such as hunting, travel, craft, chance, or single virtues. While their power is limited compared to greater gods, their influence is often more immediate and personal.

Unlike the greater gods, minor gods frequently interact with the mortal world. They may answer prayers directly, appear in dreams, or subtly influence events within their sphere. Their presence is strongest where belief is focused and consistent, and their power can wax or wane depending on devotion, tradition, and remembrance.

Worship of minor gods is usually practical rather than ceremonial. Hunters pray after a kill, sailors whisper thanks upon safe passage, and craftsmen leave small offerings at the end of their work. Temples are rare; shrines are often simple, temporary, or symbolic.

Minor gods are neither bound to strict morality nor distant cosmic balance. Some are benevolent, others indifferent, and a few openly dangerous. They are shaped by what they represent and how mortals engage with them, making them deeply entwined with everyday life across all nations.
