Cardvork Ironspike serves as Chamberlain to the Dwarven King, a position he holds with unwavering discipline and stern devotion to tradition. Broad even by dwarven standards, Cardvork carries himself with the weight of both office and ancestry. His beard, thick and iron-grey, is bound in measured braids clasped with heavy rings engraved with the sigils of ancient clans. Each ring marks a treaty upheld, a debt settled, or a law defended.

His face is carved with deep lines earned not from battle, but from years spent navigating courtly disputes, treasury ledgers, and matters of succession. His dark eyes miss little. They are steady, calculating, and often disapproving of anything that smells of reckless change.

Cardvork dresses in layered robes of deep crimson and black, trimmed with subdued gold thread rather than ostentatious jewels. His attire reflects his philosophy: strength, order, and continuity above vanity. A heavy chain bearing the seal of the Crown rests across his chest, symbolising his authority to speak in the King’s name when required.

As Chamberlain, Cardvork oversees the functioning of the royal court and the administrative machinery of the underground stronghold. Nothing enters the council chamber without passing under his scrutiny.

He distrusts foreign influence, questions progressive reforms, and views innovation with suspicion unless it is anchored firmly in ancestral practice.
