Magisterium - City of Drakus

Description

The Magisterium is a school of magic, built here because of the ability to easily perform magic in the location. It stands on the cliffs towering above the city of Drakus. The tall spires of the building seemed to reach impossibly high as if trying to grab the clouds above.

The Magisterium was founded over three hundred years ago, after a while a conservative-thinking leader overpowered a female magi, and caused to take the blame for a series of attacks that wreaked havoc across the kingdom, his goal was to discredit not just that female but all females, Eventually, he staged a combat with her and with his ruse he caused her power to be limited since he was the grandmaster at the time and had placed other conservative thinkers in places of power, from that day forward the council appointed only conservative thinking members and bound all females to be much weaker than the average men.

Since the misogynistic nature of the councils’ views was slowly over time impressed onto the thoughts of others, it became second nature of the men of the magisterium to hold these views, it was very rare that a female would hold any type of power in the magisterium, Most focused their skills on healing magics that didn’t require so much power to fulfil.

Each Grandmaster would learn of the secret history of the Magisterium after accepting a casting of the oath spell that would bind someone to the oath. An oath that once cast would prevent the new Grandmaster from revealing the truth and continue the binding of female magi.

As part of the agreement with the King of the time as a reward for saving the kingdom, the Magisterium was made not of the kingdom but still within its borders. They have their laws. The King can send a message but it is up to the Magisterium council if they will take any notice of it.

It took the arrival of Malderia Talon to break the spell that held all females captive, her magic took the spell and destroyed it, so that it could never be cast again. This led to the election of the first Grandmistress of the Magisterium, Lady Siva Kilsilla
