Mind Cloak allows the caster to veil minds and presence from astral and divination-based observation. While the spell is active, those protected by Mind Cloak cannot be perceived or identified by the Scry spell or similar astral scouting effects.
The spell may be cast in one of two forms:
The caster draws a circle on the ground of any size and ties the spell to it. All individuals within the circle are protected as long as they remain inside its boundary. Once tied off, the spell persists for 12 hours and requires no further fatigue cost from the caster. Leaving the circle immediately ends the protection for that individual. People can enter and leave the circle and are only protected while inside the circle.
Alternatively, the caster may cloak a small travelling group. In this form, the spell affects all individuals within 1 yard per caster level of the caster. The caster must actively maintain the spell, paying the full spell fatigue cost each hour. If concentration lapses or the caster becomes incapacitated, the cloak immediately fails.
Those attempting to scry a cloaked target perceive only empty astral space or indistinct interference, as if the area or individuals simply do not exist within the astral view.
Mind Cloak blocks astral and divination-based perception but does not render targets physically invisible or silent. Mundane observation and non-divinatory magic are unaffected.
