Priests are the servants of their gods in the game world. They selflessly dedicate their lives to their deities in the quest for knowledge and favour. Like Magi INT, WIS and STA are the most important main statistics. Priests are not allowed to kill unless they are protecting their own lives, following their beliefs, or saving the lives of companions or innocents.
Every priest has a holy symbol, which they use as a focus for their prayers to give them Faith. This gives them a +30% chance to succeed with a prayer while holding their holy symbol though they pay highly for this, as they do not receive this bonus without the symbol. Priests Faith starts at 5% and they gain +5% to their Faith each time they level. The Priest must choose whether to be a general or dedicated worshipper. This will also depend upon their Alignment. You can only worship a god of your own alignment. For example, a Positive aligned Priest may only choose a Positive god(s). If for example they choose general worship they may utilise any positive prayer at no penalty. If they dedicate to one god, e.g. Nijky, all prayers to that deity receive a +15 casing bonus. Prayers to the other Positive deities are at a -5 penalty. The same rule applies to Negative Priests. Priests cannot cast opposite deities prayers, i.e. Positive Priests can never cast Negative god’s prayers and vice versa. Neutral prayers however can be cast by both Positive and Negative Priests but at a -20 penalty.
Neutral Priests can remain general or dedicated also, the same modifiers for this applies. They can cast both negative and positive prayers, but both at a -20 penalty. The various deities are listed below.
Marclo (Neutral) : Lord of the gods. Marclo is known as ‘The Great Watcher’. He takes no direct part in mortal affairs. He uses the other deities to do so. Marclo is the judge of the immortals, and does not take sides. Marclo is truly neutral.
Della (Neutral) : Della is the god of attack. As attack can come from all sides, negative or positive, Della is neutral. Della helps priests who believe in attack as the best form of defence.
Dekin (Neutral) : Dekin is the god of mind power. As the mind can be used for both positive and negative things Dekin is neutral. Dekin helps priests who use their minds as a source of their power.
Lourey (Positive) : Lourey is the god of nature. Lourey helps priests who believe that natural forces and phenomenon can help them rather than anything else.
Hasder (Positive) : Hasder is the god of healing. Healing is used to help others. Hasder helps priests who heal others.
Nijky (Positive) : Nijky is the god of protection. Nijky helps those who believe in defence only. For followers of Nijky unprovoked attack is forbidden.
Zemdon (Negative) : Zemdon is the god of Demons. Zemdon helps those who use their power to control and use these entities.
Kilder (Negative) : Kilder is the god of suffering. Kilder helps those who gain pleasure from the suffering of others.
Jarat (Negative) : Jarat is the god of the dead. Jarat helps those who like to use death to help themselves. Jarat opposes healing as this ‘robs’ death of victims.
At level 4 the Priest gets the ability to Lay on Hands healing 4 Points of Life Force damage. The number of times the priest can lay on Hands per day increases by 1 every 4th level. This ability has no fatigue cost. For example:
Level | Time per Day |

8 | 2 |
12 | 3 |
16 | 4 |
20 | 5 |
24 | 6 |
28 | 7 |
32 | 8 |
36 | 9 |
At Level 5 the Priest gets a familiar. Roll 1d100 to see what type of creature.
1d100 | Familiar |

Familiars require 1pt of Fatigue per day to stay bonded to the Priest. Otherwise they will probably leave.
At level 7 the Priest gets the ability to Remove Curse once per week. This increases by 1 every four levels, e.g. 11, 15 etc. The cost is 10 Fatigue points per cast.
At level 10 the Priest gets the ability to cure a Disease once per week. This too increases by 1 every four levels. The cost is 15 Fatigue points per cast.
At Level 15 the Priest gets the ability to Cure poison once a day. This increases by 1 every four levels. The cost is 25 Fatigue points per cast.
A Priest can use his holy symbol to return the undead to the grave. To Turn Undead the Priest must add his Faith level and current Class level together and subtract the total from the Life Force of the undead creature. If the resulting figure is negative the undead target is turned automatically. If the negative figure is equal to or greater than the undead creatures Life Force then it is automatically destroyed. For example if an undead had 40 L.F. and after subtraction was at -40 L.F. it would automatically be destroyed.
Priests can only wield Blunt Weapons. A priest that wields a bladed weapon or a sharp pointed missile weapon would become more and more ill the longer they used those weapons. The only bladed weapon that a priest can wield is a Holy Dagger. These are extremely uncommon as the High priests can only bless and therefore create these weapons on certain days of the year. Priests receive no penalty when wielding staffs, clubs, hammers, slings, flails or Holy Daggers.
