Description

This represents a character’s life before their adventuring began. The status will therefore affect the amount of gold that your character starts with in-game; the character’s monthly income and the PC’s number of Luck Points (LPs), (see Luck Points later). The career in Upbringing indicates the profession that your family did. Low status indicates that you didn’t have a privileged upbringing. While high levels do not mean you were the child of nobility but your family was well off.

Starting gold is your Status level times five, e.g. if your Status is 55% then you would receive 275 gold pieces (Gp’s).

Luck Points (LP’s)

Luck points are a feature available only to player characters (PC) and not to NPC. Luck points are precious and very useful if you are trying to accomplish tasks. For every 1 point of luck you spend you receive a +10 bonus to any skill, statistic, song, prayer, or magic casting roll. Thus luck can help you complete very difficult tasks. E.g. Ugg is hanging by his fingertips off a cliff. He has to roll his strength to pull himself up. Time is running out and so is his stamina, if he fails his roll he falls 300 meters to his death. Ugg’s strength is 35, pretty weak. Ugg has 6 luck points and not wanting to take any chances decides to spend all 6 points. Ugg must now roll 95 or less on his percentile roll in order to pull himself up.
