The Half-Giant long bow is a massive weapon built for hands and strength far beyond that of ordinary folk. Standing nearly as tall as a grown human, its elongated limbs are hewn from thick, seasoned hardwood or horn-reinforced yew, layered and bound to withstand immense draw weight. Bands of iron, bone, or carved stone are often set into the bow’s spine, both as reinforcement and as a mark of the Half-Giant’s clan or lineage.
Drawing the bow requires exceptional power. When loosed, it releases a deep, resonant crack, hurling heavy shafts with brutal force over great distances. Its arrows are closer to javelins than common arrows, fletched with broad feathers and tipped with barbed iron or stone heads capable of punching through shields, armor, and even light fortifications.
Though cumbersome for smaller races, the Half-Giant long bow is balanced perfectly for its wielder. In battle it is used to dominate open ground, break enemy formations, and strike terror into advancing foes. To a Half-Giant, this bow is not merely a ranged weapon but an extension of their strength and reach, a tool of war that turns raw power into devastating precision.
