Magi are the intellectuals of the game world. Magi rely heavily upon the main statistics Intelligence (INT) and Wisdom (WIS), however, stamina (STA) is very important to them also. Magi strive to use, perfect and develop all forms of magic. Magi tend to devote a great amount of their lives to the subject as perfection takes a very long time. Magi can use any weapon but do not receive any training points.
Magi use spells which are made up of one, or a combination of up to and including five of the elements; (these being Air, Earth, Fire, Spirit, and Water). The Magi must have the correct elemental level for the spell in order to cast it. The magi must also have enough Fatigue Pts with which to cast the spell. At character generation the character will have a number of starting spells, the amount they have is calculated by their INT + WIS /10, (any decimals will be rounded up). The player can now choose his/her spells, however their choices must be cast-able spells, i.e. no high element level spells. At level 1 the magi has a casting level of 15%. The magi gains +5% to this every time they level.
Spells are split into 10 levels of power, over the 5 elements. Each spell rank level is represented by a ribbon colour, these are: White, grey, orange, green, blue, brown, purple, red, black and lastly gold). When Casting magic a Magi can utilise a magical symbol either drawn on the ground or have made into a talisman that they can wear around their neck. This symbol will give them +25 to their casting ability. The symbol is a circle and pentagram with five gems one at each point that the pentagram touches the circle. The five gems that are required represent the five elements. Diamond (Air), Ruby (Fire), Sapphire (Water), Amethyst (Spirit) and Emerald (Earth). If the magi doesn’t get the symbol completely drawn they will receive a bonus +5 for the completed circle and/or Pentagram. The gems will add a plus 1 each only when the circle and Pentagram exist.
Magi have the ability to work together when they become adept they can Link making the effects of magic more powerful and easier to cast, for example, the time taken to cast is halved for each magi that helps no matter what skill level they have.
While the power of a spell effect increases by 5 percent accumulativly meaning that 15 additional magi would double the effect of a spell,
The caster can accept up to 5 points of elemental power per magi that is linked allowing the caster to be able to cast spells that would no longer be available to them.
The magi being linked to also gives up 1d10 points of health, if the caster fails the roll typically a critical failure would be the only way to cause this the multipler will increase the health reduction and may kill lower-level magi.
Magi have no special abilities.
